Sambar Powder

Sambar Powder is a spice blend used throughout India to make Sambar, a broth made with vegetables and cooked lentils flavored with tamarind pulp in a traditional South Indian taste. Due to its aroma and taste it has become famous all over the world.

It is described as a “designer health food” as various dals, vegetables, spices and condiments give all the nutrients that body needs.

It is eaten with rice or snacks like Dosa, Idli, Vada, etc. Sambar masala can also be added to curries, veg. Dishes, soups or stews to impart a typical South Indian flavor to a dish.
